Thanks to old, welcome to new Board Members
By Carol Greve
French Quarter Citizens would like to express their appreciation to three
members who served the Board in 2006, Laurie Baker, Ed Foulks and Sandy
Sandona. Without dedicated volunteers like Laurie, Ed and Sandy, our
organization could never accomplish all the good work that we do for the
community. Thank you, thank you, thank you to these former Board members.
Our organization is happy to introduce two new Board members for 2007,
Benjamin Crosby and Leslie Perrin. Benjamin has lived and owned property in
the Quarter for over ten years. His business is in wholesale textiles for
the hotel and cruise ship industries and he has offices in Miami and New
Orleans. He is concerned about commercial development in the French Quarter
with a disregard for the residential aspects of the neighborhood. Leslie
Perrin is a realtor and owner of a Magazine Street art gallery. She and her
husband Chuck have been full time residents for seven years. She loves the
residential community in the Quarter and is concerned about the preservation
of the historic buildings in the Vieux Carré. We look forward to working
with Benjamin and Leslie to help preserve our neighborhood's quality of life
and to protect the architectural integrity of our historic buildings.
The Board would also like to offer a special thanks to Marti Speights who is
the Editor of the Newsletter and to B.B. St. Roman who always does a
magnificent job of producing this Newsletter.
