 The
Board of Directors of French Quarter Citizens, Inc. would like to express
our greatest sympathies to our members, friends, neighbors, and families
affected by the ravages of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. When
faced with unspeakable tragedy, we were exposed to the darkest side of human
nature. However, we have also been joyful witnesses to our community’s
remarkable show of resilience, hope and faith. The strength of
New
Orleans
lies in its unique people and culture. This great city will rise again
and be better than ever.
Thankfully,
our beloved and irreplaceable Vieux Carré was spared the unrelenting devastation
suffered by so many other neighborhoods. The residents and business
owners of the French Quarter stand ready, willing, and more able every
day to help renew and affirm our neighborhood’s position as the heart
of the cultural, historic, architectural, musical and culinary mecca that
is New
Orleans.
